Who Says There Were No Changes in the F 150 for 2019?

For our Woodland customers who are disappointed that the big redesign for America’s best selling pickup, the Ford F 150, won’t be arriving until 2020, we have a little good news to share with you. The guys at Ford responsible for redesign couldn’t let a year go by without at least one significant upgrade. They chose the Limited trim to play with and what they did added a wild side to the business class pickup. Basically, they injected a little Raptor DNA into the upscale Limited.

The 2019 Ford F 150 Limited is getting the same raucous, powerful engine that sits under the hood of the F 150 Raptor. Ford has adapted the high-output 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost® V6 engine to the Limited trim. At 450 hp it is the most powerful engine in the light-duty pickup class. So, in 2019, that luxury ride will now have an extra oomph when you step down on the accelerator.

The 2019 F 150 Limited – Not Your Grandpa’s Pickup

A few decades ago, pickups were bare bone trucks mostly used by farmers, ranchers, construction workers and craftsmen. They didn’t waste a lot of time washing them because they would get dirty the next business day, and besides, these trucks were hardscrabble tools, not fancy sedans.

Times change.

The already upscale interior of the Limited trim is moving to a higher level for 2019. It starts with the new Camel Back two-tone color and includes heated, ventilated and massaging leather front seats. Toss in ash swirl wood trim, premium aluminum-wrapped bezels and tasteful detailing and you have a downright sophisticated interior.

Then there’s connectivity and entertainment. The 2019 F-150 Limited features SYNC® 3 with AppLink™, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility. Have more than just a smartphone? A FordPass™ Connect 4G LTE modem provides Wi-Fi access for up to 10 devices. And for tunes, audiophiles will appreciate, as standard equipment,  B&O PLAY audio system by HARMAN.

But it’s not all about good looks and convenience. F 150 buyers, regardless of the trim, want truck functionality too. The limited delivers, particularly with regards to towing. An integrated trailer brake controller is standard, as is a 360-degree camera with split-view display. This is really cool because it ties in with dynamic hitch assist making hitching a snap. Making it even easier, the optional class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist™ makes maneuvering a breeze by providing a steering knob to control its direction, with the truck automatically steering to follow the course selected.

After you’re hooked up, the Limited’s driver-assist technology kicks in reducing daily driving stress. With technology like Standard adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Ford helps drivers navigate and avoid or mitigate collisions with other vehicles and pedestrians. Also standard on the Limited are Active park assist to aid in parallel parking, plus a Lane-Keeping System that provides alerts and assistance with lane drift.
