2018 Ford F-150 – A Pickup for All Seasons and Reasons

Coming off another record-breaking sales year, the 2018 Ford F-150 proves once again it is the favorite full size pickup truck of America. A quick check of the traffic on the streets in Woodland, Roseville and Sacramento will verify that the F-150 is the favorite in Yolo County too. And why wouldn’t it be? It has a great selection of powerplants, excellent fuel efficiency, best towing and hauling capability in its class, a ton of Ford technology and safety features, a handsome cabin with plenty of leg room, and a choice of drivetrains.

There’s a reason why the F-150 appeals to so many pickup drivers. A few decades ago, the pickup truck was a sturdy, barebones vehicle used almost exclusively by farmers, ranchers, and tradesmen as a work horse. Today, more Americans drive pickup trucks than any other class of vehicle. Trucks have become incredibly popular and not just for their utilitarian side. Today, many drivers want to experience the “high ride” of a truck but retain the comfort and convenience of a sedan. It’s a safe bet that not many of today’s drivers would be interested in a 1955 Ford F-100, the best-selling pickup of its time.

Ford has met the challenges of changing driver expectations by creating a high value, durable, pickup and then offering so many variations and features that there is a version that is a perfect fit for every driver.

2018 Ford F-150 – As Close to a Custom Production Pickup Truck as You Will Find

When we say that the 2018 F-150 comes in different flavors, we are serious. The F-150 comes in 7 different trims ranging from the basic workhorse XL to the ultra-luxurious 4x4 Limited. Between those trims, the XLT, Lariat, Raptor, King Ranch, and Platinum, there are no fewer than 44 different trim styles. That’s a lot of choices.

The best way to get a feel for what’s available, is to take a moment now and browse Team Ford’s inventory of these hot trucks.

But if you want more detail, here are two of the most popular trims:

  • XL. If you are looking for an affordable, full-size pickup as your daily ride, or you need a truck for work, the XL can fill the bill. Equipped with a 290 horsepower, 3.3 L V6 and six-speed shiftable automatic, this entry level truck can pull 5,000 lbs. and haul 3,350 lbs. in its 6.5’ box. It’s entry level, but you couldn’t tell that from the cabin and convenience features. Keyless entry gets you access to a comfortable cabin with adjustable and telescoping steering column, AM-FM radio with optional SYNC®, 12-volt Powerpoint, cabin storage everywhere, and rear-view camera with Dynamic Hitch Assistance. This is a tough, hard working truck, perfect for work or play.
  • Raptor 4x4. One of our favorites. The Raptor is for the driver who sees his truck as his ticket to off-road adventure. You’re going to see this bad boy coming with its new, aggressive, grille sporting FORD in big block letters with integrated marking lights. Equipped with a twin-turbo, intercooled, DOHC 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 that pushes out 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque to a 10-speed shiftable automatic with 6 drive modes including Sport and Baja. You’ve got all the power you need to navigate an interstate or a dirt trail. FOX Racing Shox cover 14” of wheel play front and rear. Inside there’s powered buckets, lots of leg and head room, an optional premium sound system, SYNC® 3 connectivity and an 8” touchscreen. This truck rocks.
